The main courses are:

1.Introduction to international air law

This course is a more general course and is  meant for managers and other personnel  involved in day to day administration in the aviation industry and who need  to have an understanding  and broad perspective of international air law. The aim of the course is to provide participants, with an understanding of the complexities of the international regulation of air services; how the rules are made, how they are changed and how they are enforced.

Participants will also learn about the responsibilities and liabilities of international aviation and governmental organisations as well as the liabilities and responsibilities of airlines, aircraft manufacturers, airports, aircraft maintenance organisations, air traffic control and individuals. The course will last for five days and will consist of approximately twenty hours of teaching in English. There will be sufficient time for questions and group discussions.

 

2. Commercial contracts for aviation managers

This course is meant to be practical course for managers and others in the aviation industry who deal regularly with commercial contracts. Delegates will gain an understanding of the complexities of international commercial contracts and will be given guidance on the pitfalls to avoid. Delegates will also learn about drafting techniques and to how achieve clear and understandable documentation. They will learn how to obtain the best commercial advantages for their organisations and how to minimise risk. The course will last for three days and will consist of 15 hours of teaching in English.

The course will cover the following topics:  legal and contractual terms/ contract drafting principles ,the terms of aircraft leases of importance to managers, aircraft and engine maintenance contracts ,ground handling agreements, procurement agreements, supply chain solutions and problems, IT equipment; outsourcing, force majeure and dispute resolution solutions. There will be able particular emphasis on case studies involving practical exercises in drafting and amending contract clauses.
